Semifinalists emerge in three junior age categories

The junior players to qualify to the semifinals of the SLTA Yeti Hard Court Tennis Nationals emerged in three age groups, two in the girls and one in the boys categories after the completion of the quarter final matches played at the SLTA tennis courts at Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.

Annaya Norbert succeeded to book berths in two age groups of Under 16 and Under 18 while Akeesha Silva and Bovindee Lihihamy were the other two girls to qualify in the Under 16 age category.

In the boys Under 16 category Ashlin de Silva, Nevan Kannangara, Shennon Anderson and Mayooran Kubheran were the four players to make it to the semifinals.

In the girls Under 18 category apart from Annaya the three girls to make it to the semifinals were Dulkini Ranasinghe, Sahansa Damsilini and Githmi Fernando. The tournament will be continued today.
