The National Paralympic Committee of Sri Lanka has selected two school-level para table tennis players, Madew Dehigahawatta of Trinity College, Kandy, and Rusath Silva of Christ Church College, Baddegama, to compete at the Asian Youth Para Games 2025 in Dubai, scheduled from December 7–14.
Madew will compete in the Men’s Singles Standing Class C9 event, while Rusath, at just 13 years old, has also earned his place among Asia’s top emerging para athletes.
Both players were chosen based on their strong performances and potential, and will be part of Sri Lanka’s nine-member youth delegation for the regional para sporting event.
Their selections mark a significant milestone for school-level para table tennis in Sri Lanka, spotlighting two young athletes preparing to represent the country on one of Asia’s biggest international stages.
