Saif Hassan, the 21-year-old Bangladesh opener, who tested positive for Covid-19 a second time, is still not ruled out of the Sri Lanka tour.
This was confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Physician Dr. Debashish Chaudhary yesterday.

“We cannot say that he was positive for a second time. In fact, we just took a chance to have his test early, i.e. within one week. It takes about two weeks to get the proper results.”
“He does not have any symptoms and we will test him once more on Saturday. If he recovers well in time, we will certainly consider him for selection.”
Interestingly, the Bangladesh players are given a three-day break from training.

“It is going to be a long tour and this break was necessary. We will utilise this period for testing of players.”

Meanwhile, the players and the team management staff will undergo COVID-19 tests today (18) for those stationed in Dhaka and on September 19 for those who are arriving in Dhaka from other divisions/districts.

Training of the National Team players will resume in Dhaka on September 20.
