Royal College became the champions of the Under-17 Division Two inter-school cricket tournament when they defeated Royal College Polonnaruwa by 60 runs in the final played at the MCA ground.
Royal Colombo taking first lease of the wicket underwent some anxious moments and was struggling on 66 for 5 before they recovered through a valuable partnership of 59 runs for the sixth wicket between Janiru Weeraratne and Javeeth Perera which helped them to end with a score of 166 runs.
Royal Polonnaruwa in their run chase lost their way with their top five batsmen back in the pavilion with the score on 39. From there on they lost wickets at regular intervals as the left arm spin pair of skipper Oshan Sulakshana and Nesandu Mandiv along with Mahiru Kodituwakku accounted for nine wickets between to bundle them out for a low score of 106 runs.
