Sri Lankan golf prodigy Reshan Algama turned in a polished even-par 72 at the MEDCO Pondok Indah International Amateur Championship at Pondok Indah Golf Course in Jakarta, Indonesia yesterday which marked the second day.
His round featured five birdies and five bogeys, bringing his two day total to 146 lifting him into a share of 9th place.
Algama’s composed play on a tough Jakarta course underlined his status as Sri Lanka’s leading junior and a burgeoning name in the amateur ranks.
Jacob Norton rebounded on day two with a respectable 4 over par 76, bringing his gross to 157 and securing 44th place. He was 9 over on the first day.
Meanwhile Haroon Aslam also improved, posting back to back solid rounds for a total of 154, tying him for 27th.
Sadly, Sachin de Silva narrowly missed the cut by one stroke, finishing outright just outside entry to the final round. Only the top 59 made the cut out of 79 golfers.
Indonesian golfers Randy Arbenata and William Justin held on to the top two positions with a total score of 137 and 138.
Today is the final day.
