Rajans strongly placed

Dharmaraja College were in the box seat in their Battle of the Maroons Inter-School Big Match against traditional rivals Kingswood College which commenced at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy yesterday.

Batting first, the Rajans ended day one prematurely when they were well placed on 253 for two. 

Tharindu Warnakulage stroked a brilliant unbeaten century inclusive of 10 boundaries and one six while his partner Lakvin Abeysinghe stroked 12 elegant boundaries when he remained unbeaten on 110 at stumps. 

The third wicket unbeaten partnership is worth 209 and the Rajans are assured to pose a mammoth first innings total.
