Rain thwarts Maris Stella’s march

Rain hampered the first day’s proceedings of the Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter between Maris Stella College Thimbirigaskatuwa and Lyceum International School Wattala played at Thimbirigaskatuwa yesterday.

Maris Stella taking first lease of the wicket was on 192 for 2 having faced 60.3 overs which came on the back of a 151-run stand for the second wicket between Shaven Fonseka who made 92 and Ravindu Arunod who made an unbeaten 62.

Lyceum International Schoo,l Nugegoda ended the first day on 98 for 4 in reply to Nalanda Boys School Minuwangoda which made 186 in the match played at Divulapitiya. Loyola College Kochchikade was on 70 for 8 having faced just 36 overs against Rajasinghe Central Hanwella at Hanwella when the match was called off. 

The matches will be continued today.
