Peterites felicitate godfathers of rugby team

St Peter’s College launched their rugby season with the official presentation and felicitation of the sponsors who have come forward to support the school team at a ceremony held at the Rev. Fr. Nicholas Perera Memorial Hall on Monday.

Fr. Rohitha Rodrigo, the rector of St Peter’s briefing the media said: “With so many responsibilities involved, with finance being the most important, I thank all the sponsors who have come forward to support the school rugby which no doubt is a great encouragement for the boys”.

Cargills is the platinum sponsor with TDM International as principal sponsor, A.J. Medichem International as gold sponsor, TVS Lanka as silver sponsor, Gordone Sri Lanka as clothing partner, Calorie Counter as nutrition partner and Hemas Hospitals as healthcare partner.

St Peter’s this year under the guidance of new head coach Rajeew Perera will be led by the experienced Shenuka Perera with two other experienced players Revon Perera and Senuth Dinsara as vice captains.

They will play their first league match against Mahanama College followed by matches against arch rivals St Joseph’s College, Prince of Wales College, Ananda College and Wesley College.
