Peterite Kubherane bags second Singles title

Mayooran Kubherane of St Peter’s College bagged his second junior singles title at the ongoing Yeti SSC Open Tennis Championship.

Following his boys’ Under 18 title which he won last week he bagged the Under 16 title by recording a comfortable two sets to nil win over Rehan Gunawardena in the final played at the SSC tennis courts in Colombo yesterday.

Meanwhile in the women’s Open Doubles final which was played concurrently the pair of Tuvini de Alwis and Biyanka Acquistapace clinched the title with a hard fought two sets to one win over the pair of Gehansa Methnadi and Akesha Silva. The championship will be continued today.
