In the third week of the 2025-26 FFSL Champions League Super Eight round, Pelicans SC continued their unbeaten run, securing seven points from three matches at the Race Course Ground in Colombo.
Pelicans won two matches and drew one, soaring above Serendib SC Mawanella (6 points), Saunders SC Colombo (5 points) and Java Lane SC Colombo (5 points). Police SC and Solid SC remain at the bottom with no wins from three games.
On Monday, Pelicans defeated Police SC 2-1. The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Pelicans with Earnest Addo scoring in the 12th and 57th minutes, earning him the Best Player of the Match award. Police SC’s lone goal came from the boot of substitute Hussain Abdulla (66th minute).
Meanwhile, the match between Saunders SC and Java Lane SC ended 2-2. Java Lane led 2-1 at halftime with goals from Harshana Sumudu (21st) and Nwabuisi Benard (44th).
Saunders SC equalised with goals from Roger Philippe and Clauvice Franck while Oluwaseun Olawale of Java Lane received a red card in the 87th minute.
