Matheesha Pathirana

Sri Lanka’s ace fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana was sold in at US $120,000 to Colombo Strikers at the 2024 Lanka Premier League (LPL) T20 Cricket Tournament Player Auction held in Colombo yesterday.
Dambulla started the bidding at US $70,000 and just like that the LPL record was shattered as Galle Marvels bump up to US $100,000.
Galle upped their own bid to US $120,000 but their attempt to raise the price didn’t pay off in the end.
Earlier, Galle signed in Isura Udana for US $100,000. Udana started at US $30,000 and Galle raised their bid US $100,000.
Dasun Shanaka, the former Sri Lankan white-ball Skipper, is in at US$ 50,000. And the teams awake from their slumber. Back and forth between Kandy and Jaffna sees the bidding go up to US $75,000 with Kandy making the operative bid. After some chatter Jaffna made it US $80,000. However Kandy responded with US $85,000.
Dunith Wellalage, the former Under-19 Skipper started with a base price at US $30,000 but an enthusiastic Colombo gave in a vocal bid of US $40,000 to start the bidding.
Jaffna also entered the fray but it went up to US $50,000 from Colombo and Wellalage was eventually sold to Colombo.
