The 56th annual Saints Quadrangular tournament which has evolved into a multi-sports carnival over the years will be held at St. Joseph’s and St. Peter’s grounds on November 8 and 9, the organizers announced.

The event comprises a Quadrangular Trophy T-20 cricket tournament between St. Anthony’s College Kandy, St. Benedict’s College Kotahena, St. Joseph’s College Maradana and St. Peter’s College Bambalapitiya.

The other activities will be for the Fr. Joe Wickramasinghe basketball trophy, a rugby tournament and cricket Sixes tournament among “sister schools” Good Shepherd Convent Kandy, Good Shepherd Convent Colombo 13, St. Bridget’s Convent Colombo 7 and Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya on November 9.

The guest of honour of the opening ceremony will be Dinuk de S Wijeratne while the chief guest will be Kenneth de Zilva.

The Saints Quadrangular began as a two-day cricket encounter and has evolved into a multisport carnival that continues to embody the true spirit of sportsmanship and fraternity.

Over the past five decades the Quadrangular has witnessed numerous national and international cricketers proudly don their school colours once again, rekindling memories of their school days.

“Our objective is to bring old boys of four Catholic boys’ schools to meet and preserve old friendship,” President of the Old Josephians Club Preithiraj De Silva said.
