Sri Lanka’s junior sailors are all set to contest the International Optimist Dinghy Association (IODA) Asian and Oceana Championships that starts on October 25 in Oman.
An official said that after a fiercely contested selection trial, nine of the country’s finest junior sailors earned the honour of representing Sri Lanka in what he said was one of the sport’s toughest stages.
He said the sailors were “leaving nothing to chance” under the guidance of National coach Krishan Janaka and additional coach Roshil Nishantha after some gruelling training sessions on the waters of the Bolgoda Lake.
