New Star SC Beruwala Clinches 3-0 Win Over Negombo Youth SC in FFSL Champions League

New Star Sports Club Beruwala defeated Negombo Youth Sports Club 3-0 in a fast-round match of the FFSL Champions League Tournament (2025–2026) held at the Racecourse Grounds in Colombo yesterday evening.

The opening ceremony of the tournament, organised by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL), was conducted with full participation of players and officials, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

The match between New Star and Negombo Youth was highly competitive. At halftime, New Star led 1-0. The first and third goals were scored by Mohammed Fazal (21st min and 80th min. ) and the second goal was scored by Mohammed Shakeel in the 78th minute, sealing the 3-0 victory.

Earlier, the match between Solid SC Anuradhapura and St. Mary’s SC Chilaw ended 0-0, with no winner emerging.
