Nethsara cracks unbeaten century for Tissa

An unbeaten knock of 130 by opener Nethsara Yashmitha for Tissa Central College Kalutara was the highlight of the first day against traditional rivals Kalutara MV in their 66th Battle of the Mangoosteens match played at De Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa yesterday.

Nethsara’s knock had14 boundaries and two sixes and he shared in two valuable partnerships of 115 runs for the second wicket with Ashen Ishara and 82 runs for the fourth wicket with skipper Malindu Dilshan to help Tissa Central taking first lease of the wicket to make 247 for 6 before bad light forced the umpires to call off the match early.

Only 60 overs of play was possible for the day.
