Matara Thomians dominate first day

St Thomas’ College Matara dominated proceedings against St Aloysius College Galle at the end of the first day’s play in their Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter played at Weeraketiya. St Thomas’ after bowling out their opponents for 153 runs helped by a half ton from Abdul Maajid ended the day on 158 for 5.

A run a ball knock of 108 inclusive of 15 boundaries and three sixes by Shevon Moses helped Vidyartha taking first lease of the wicket to make a score of 201 against Sri Dharmaloka MV Kelaniya who ended day one on 85 for 4 in the match played at Kandy. The matches will be continued today.
