Maris Stella and Lyceum surge into lead

Maris Stella College, Negombo (58 points) and Lyceum International School Wattala (111 points) led the boys’ and girls’ categories respectively by the end of the third day of the 93rd Sir John Tarbat Senior Athletic Championship at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex at Diyagama yesterday.

Competing under three age categories—under 16, under 18 and under 20—the boys’ division had a tight battle for second place between Lyceum International School, Wattala (44 points), and St. Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa (44 points). St. Benedict’s College secured fourth place in the boys’ division with 39 points.

In the girls’ division, Ratnayake CC Walala (102 points) aggressively contended for second place while Dharmapala College Pannipitiya (30 points) and Ambagamuwa Central College (28 points) also competed fiercely for third place in the girls’ category.
