Maris Stella College, Thimbirigaskatuwa and Royal College Panadura will clash in the final of the Under 19 inter-schools Division Two Tier B two day cricket tournament scheduled to be played today and tomorrow at the Surrey Village ground in Maggona.
In the run up to the final the two teams played in the same Group ‘Y’ with Maris Stella led by Yohan Fernando ending up as the top team while Royal Panadura led by Yasith Fernando securing the second spot to book the berths to quarter finals.
In the quarter finals saw Maris Stella overcoming Christ King College Ja-ela and Royal getting the better of Kingswood College and in the semi final encounters Maris Stella defeated President’s College Kotte while Royal brushed aside the challenge of P. de S. Kularatne MV Ambalangoda.
It’s going to be an interesting tussle as Maris Stella prevailed with a first innings win in the first round match when the two sides played against each other and they will be looking forward for a repeat of that performance while Royal will be coming into the field to seek revenge.

However the final outcome is the clash for the title and whoever comes out victorious the two teams have earned the promotion to the Division Two Tier ‘A’ segment next season.
