Maliban, MAS Casualine crowned Mercantile volleyball champs

Super League women’s champions MAS Casualine Sports Club

Maliban Sports Club and MAS Casualine Sports Club ended as the men’s and women’s champions respectively at the 2025 Mercantile Volleyball Super League Tournament which concluded at the Albert F. Peiris Indoor Stadium in Wennappuwa.

Organized by the Mercantile Volleyball Association, the championship had the participation of more than 200 mercantile sector teams competing under four categories — Super League Men and Women, Division ‘A’ Men and Women, Championship Men and Women and Veterans Men and Women.

In an exciting Super League men’s final, Maliban Sports Club defeated Ocean SC in straight sets (33-31, 25-23, 29-27) to clinch the title. LAD Sandeepa of Maliban SC was adjudged the Best Player of the Final for his outstanding performance. MAS Casualine Sports Club dominated the Super League women’s final, securing a convincing 3-0 victory over Hirdaramani SC (25-22, 25-14, 25-16) to bag the championship. 

Sachini Maduwanthi of MAS Casualine SC was adjudged the Best Female Player of the Final.
