Dimantha Mahavithana

Dimantha Mahavithana carved his name in golden letters in Trinity College cricket history with a monumental unbeaten 300, the highest individual score recorded by a batsman from the school in a single innings which was achieved against Prince of Wales College at the Asgiriya International Stadium this week.
This now stands as the all-time record for Trinity surpassing all previous performances.
Mahavithana is also featured twice among Trinity’s highest scorers, having earlier registered an unbeaten 201 against St Sebastian’s College in 2025. This makes him the only Trinitian to record both a double century and a triple century in school cricket.
Janith Warunakula (241 against Wesley in 2024), Sachith Pathirana (228 against Rahula Katugastota in 2004), Niroshan Dickwella (212 against Mahinda in 2012), Ishan Ratnayake (211 against Kingswood in 2003) and NR Marambe (202 against Kingswood in 1969) are the other batters to score double centuries for Trinity.
Kumar Sangakkara missed a double ton by two runs making 198 against S. Thomas’ Mount Lavinia in 1996.
