Mahanama captain clouts seven sixes making 74 to oust Royal

A swashbuckling 33-ball unbeaten knock of 74 with six boundaries and seven towering sixes by skipper Dulnith Sigera paved the way for Mahanama College to pull off a convincing nine wicket win over Royal College in the Under 19 Division One Tier ‘A” inter-school limited overs tournament semifinal at the FTZ ground in Katunayake yesterday.

The match got off to a late start due to a wet ground and was curtailed to 32 overs and Royal taking first lease of the wicket were bowled out for 117.

Mahanama in their run chase was given a solid start of 108 runs in only 61 balls by Sigera and Sineth Weeraratne paving the way for them to race to the target in just 10.5 and book a berth in the final.
