MCA day-night cricket final Ceylinco favoured as Abans need to buckle up

Unbeaten Abans Group, which received a big scare at the hands of George Steuart Health in the semifinals, will need to buckle up against Ceylinco General Insurance who are favoured to win the day-night final of the Munchee Trophy MCA D division cricket tournament on Sunday at the CC ground in Colombo.

In the top half semifinal that went right to the wire, Abans had a heart-stopping two runs win with one delivery to spare over George Steuarts Health as they defended 171 in 50 overs.

Madura Bashitha was their match winner as he finished with five wickets for just 39 runs.

In the bottom half semifinal, Ceylinco General Insurance eliminated the unbeaten and fancied Seylan Bank by three wickets after restricting their opponents to 146 in 47.3 overs.

Abans Group is led by Sudara Dakshina and Ceylinco General Insurance by Sajith Jayamanne.
