Kubheran finishes as champion, pockets two titles

Mayooran Kubheran, a student of St Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya ended as the champion of the ATF U-16 CV2 Week 1 tennis tournament as he prevailed in the final against compatriot and schoolmate Ashlin Silva in the Singles final played at the SLTA tennis courts at Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.

In fact after Kubheran won the first of the three sets final the match was stopped midway of the second set as Ashlin bowed out with an injury.

Kubheran was then declared the winner and in the process he bagged his second title of the tournament having earlier won the Doubles event partnered by Ashlin. The ATF U-16 CV2 Week 2 is slotted to be played from October 13 (Monday).
