Sri Lanka’s rising golf talents delivered a powerful statement at the Nick Faldo Junior European Final played at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club, with two outstanding performances and one hard-fought battle as the tournament heads into its final day.
In the girls U-21 Division, Kaya Daluwatte produced a brilliant two-day total of 135 (68, 67) to finish tied for first place at five-under-par. She shares the lead with Sweden’s Lova Jansson, who matched her score with identical rounds of 68 and 67.
Kaya’s performance reflects not only her technical skill but also her growing competitive maturity. Her disciplined course management, especially around the firm greens at Al Ain, showed her calmness beyond her years.
Every decision layups, approach shots, and conservative misses was calculated, proving she is evolving into a complete international tournament player.
Meanwhile, in the boys U-21 Division, Sri Lanka’s Reshan Algama continued his strong international form, posting rounds of 70 and 68 for a total of 138, placing him inside the top five at two-under-par. His steady climb is precision-based game and mental fitness. His second-round 68 was built on controlled drives, confident mid-iron play, and unwavering composure under pressure.
Young Jevahn Sathasivam endured a challenging day, shooting six-over-par for an overall total of seven-over, placing him 18th with one more round left to play.
Sri Lanka remains firmly in contention as the final day approaches today.
