Lasith Attanagoda

Veteran Kandy Sports Club player Lasith Attanagoda has decided to call it a day from competitive rugby, ending an illustrious 12-year journey with the country’s most successful team.
Having joined Kandy SC in 2013, Attanagoda was an integral part of the team’s dominance in Sri Lanka’s club rugby scene over the past decade.
During his time with Kandy SC, he played with some of the greatest in the club’s history, including Roshan Weeraratne, Sean Wijesinghe, Fazil Marija, Gayan Weeraratne, Richard Dharmapala, Nigel Ratwatte, Damith Dissanayake, Lavanga Perera and Srimath Sooriyabandara.
Attanagoda’s career with Kandy SC is decorated with success as he featured in nine League championship wins and four Clifford Cup wins underlining his presence in the club’s golden era of rugby supremacy.
Before joining Kandy SC, he showed his leadership skills by leading the 2012 St. Sylvester’s College team and it did not take long for him to earn his Sri Lanka jersey in 2015.
