Italy won their first match in the Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup beating Nepal by a whopping 10 wickets in Mumbai, India yesterday.

The Italian job was dominated by the opening brothers batting duo of Justin and Anthony Mosca who wiped out the Nepali bowlers by smashing everything bowled at them in a relentless onslaught while chasing down a 124 target in next to no time.

It marked a major collapse for Nepal who took the field with high hopes after almost turning tables on England in their opening match. From what looked to be a secure 49 for 1, they crashed to a mere 123 runs losing nine wickets for 74 runs in 12.3 overs after the Italians won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Italy had no difficulty chasing down the target which they reached in 12.5 overs with the Mosca brothers plundering runs at ease to finish the match in style.

Justin Mosca hammered 60 in 44 balls with five fours and three sixes while Anthony Mosca blasted 62 in 32 balls with three fours and six sixes.

Nepal 123 in 19.3 overs (Aasif Sheikh 20, Rohit Paudel 23, Aarif Sheikh 27, Dipendra Singh 17, KC Karan 18 not out, Benjamin Manenti 2 for 9, Crishan Kulagamage 3 for 18)
