Isipathana win Old Palians hockey league  

The Isipathana College under 16 hockey team captained by Mandiv Ranasinghe was crowned as the Champions at the Old Palians Hockey League organised and conducted by Old Palians (Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya), played at Dharmapala College, ground last week.

In their matches played, Isipathana drew with Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa 1-1 with Senuka Akein scoring the goal and Aziz Azyan adjudged best player.

Isipathana then beat Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya 1-0 with Mandiv Ranasinghe doing the scoring and Naqib Zafarullah named the best player.

Isipathana also beat St. Aloysius College, Galle 2-1 with Mandiv Ranasinghe and Hirun Giriwana scoring and Methupa Lohiru adjudged best player.

Isipathana then drew with Joseph Vaz College in a scoreless game.

Mandiv Ranasinghe was named as the Player of the Series. (BM)
