Sri Lanka’s Dinara de Silva emerged champion of ITF Junior Circuit J30 Week 1 tennis tournament when she defeated Yoshino Kameda of Japan with ease by two sets to nil in the final played at the SSC tennis courts.
Earlier in the first and second round matches, Dinara defeated Dana Kim of South Korea and Souna Akaba of Japan by two sets to nil, but she underwent some anxious moments in the quarter-final encounter against Aleena Farid of India before coming out on top by two sets to one, while in the semi-final encounter she had an easy passage with a comfortable two sets to nil against Savitha Bhubaneswar of India. Week 2 is scheduled to be played from May 3.
