Holy Cross girls superior at all-island badminton

The champion Holy Cross College Gampaha badminton team comprising Limansa Herath, Akenya Bulathsinghala, Sandasi Ekanayake, Sayuni Ranasinghe, Deyana Dohansa, Miheli Jayakody, Nethuki Pahandi, Sinali Lehansa, Ranuli Gallage, Damsi Sayansa, Thenuli Rehansa and Sanuli Ayasma pose for a ceremonial picture along with support staff

Holy Cross College, Gampaha won the all-island girls’ Division B Under-11 inter-school team badminton championship at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.
The tournament was organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Association and featured intense competition as the Holy Cross College A team dominated the event.
The champion team comprised Limansa Herath, Akenya Bulathsinghala, Sandasi Ekanayake, Sayuni Ranasinghe, Deyana Dohansa, Miheli Jayakody, Nethuki Pahandi, Sinali Lehansa, Ranuli Gallage, Damsi Sayansa, Thenuli Rehansa and Sanuli Ayasma.
According to the school, Rev. Sr. Mary Nuwanthi (Principal), Rev. Sr. Mary Nimalka (Senior Deputy Principal), Rev. Sr. Subasiri (Deputy Principal), Rev. Sr. Mary Ranmali (Primary Section Principal) along with Teacher-in-Charge Pushpa Perera and head coach Mahesha Ekanayake played a vibrant backstage roles in support of the young shuttlers.
The victory marks a significant achievement for Holy Cross College, highlighting the school’s growing strength in junior badminton.
