Hockey selection trials on April 6, 7

The final selection trials conducted by the Sri Lanka Hockey Federation (SLHF) to select the Sri Lanka Under-21 Junior Men’s and Women’s Hockey Teams will be held on April 6 and 7 at the Hockey Turf in Colombo.
The selection trials will be held while targeting the Asian Hockey Federation AHF Cup 2024 Tournament, which will be held from June 13 to 23 in Singapore.
This tournament will also serve as a qualifier for the Junior Asia Cup 2024 Tournament.
34 Men and 33 Women are currently training in the junior national pool while the final touring squad will include 18 players each, SLHF President P. Vishvanathan revealed.
The players will start a residential training camp after the final selection trials and all facilities including accommodation and meals will be provided by the sports ministry.    
Meanwhile, Shane Ratnam has been appointed as the Men’s Team Coach while Mario Joseph will be the Women’s Team Coach for the AHF Cup 2024 Tournament.      
In addition, Dhanushka Herath will accompany the Men’s Team as the Manager and Amal Gunasekera will be the Manager of the 
Women’s Team.
