Hirdramani wins first women’s volleyball title

Emerging women’s volleyball team Hirdramani Apparel Sri Lanka made history by winning the SLVB National Women’s Volleyball Championship for the first time in the tournament’s history.

The championship, organized by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVB) was worked off at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.

In a stunning performance, Hirdramani defeated the defending champions, Air Force Sports Club 3–1 to claim the title. The set scores were 23/25, 29/27, 25/21, 25/19. Air Force managed to win only the opening set, while Hirdramani dominated the remaining three sets to secure the championship.

Hirdramani players also excelled in individual awards, winning six out of eight Best Performance Special Trophies, including the prestigious Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, which was won by Dilrukshi Harshani.

The Hirdramani team was coached by national-level volleyball coach Amila Wijepala, whose guidance played a key role in their historic victory.
