Hayleys win three titles at inter-firm table tennis

Hayleys’ table tennis teams ended as champions at the 66th Mercantile inter-firm Championship at the Indoor Stadium, Bandaragama where the Men’s A, Men’s F and Women’s C Division teams all claimed top honours. 

The Men’s A Division title was won by Hashan Weerakoon, Helitha Hendawitharana, Asel Wickramatilake, Muditha Gunathunga and Nissanka Thilakananda following victories over Seylan Bank, 99x and MAS Holdings. 

In the Men’s F Division, the championship was secured by Kasun Weerakkody, Mahendra Ariyapala, Sahan Yugandara and Geeth Madushan. On the women’s side, Chami Gangoda and Anumi Hewage led the Hayleys team to the C Division crown.

The teams were guided by coach Nadeera Ginige, whose training and mentorship played a pivotal role in the teams’ outstanding performance.

The players displayed exceptional skill, teamwork and determination across tightly contested matches, leaving a mark on a fiercely competitive tournament.
