Havies end CR’s unbeaten run

Havelock SC put a full stop to CR & FC’s unbeaten run when they beat the Longdon Place club by 53 points (8 tries, 5 conversions, 1 penalty) to 42 points (7 tries, 2 conversions, 1 penalty) at Havelock Park last evening, regaining the Commander Matthysz trophy in the process.

At the short breather, Havelock led 31-13.

Havies scored their tries through Chethana Rajarathne (5), Jayathu Rajarathne (2), and Sachindra Waidyanatha. Samuel Maduwantha converted five of them and put over a solitary penalty as well.

Meanwhile, CR scored their tries through Gemunu Chetiya (2), Adeesha Weeratune, Thineth Gamage, Thenuka Nanayakkara, Randy Silva, and Chamod Muthunayake. Mursheed Doray converted two and put over a solitary penalty.
