The Indian Cultural Association (ICA) unveiled the official race route of the Janashakthi Life – ICA International Half-Marathon scheduled for Sunday in Colombo that organisers have branded a “sell out”.

Endorsed by the Indian High Commission and the Ministry of Sports, Sri Lanka, along with other statutory bodies, the landmark event will commence at the Galle Face Green, bringing together athletes and communities in a celebration of endurance, unity and philanthropy according to the organisers.

Following the overwhelming success of its inaugural edition, this year’s marathon has been described as “sold out” attracting over 2000 participants, a testament to the event’s rising prestige within the international running community according to the organisers.

The 2025 edition will feature three race categories: the Half Marathon (21.1 km), Challengers Run (10 km) and Family Run (5 km) and the start has been scheduled for 6:00 am at the Galle Face Green.

A total prize pool of Rs. 5.7 million (USD 18,500) will be awarded across all categories, with equal recognition for male and female athletes, underscoring ICA’s commitment to inclusivity and sporting excellence according to the organisers. “The ICA International Half-Marathon is more than a race, it is a platform for positive change. All proceeds will support ICA’s charitable initiatives across Sri Lanka, with a special focus on raising awareness for organ donation through the association’s self-pledging campaign”, race organisers said in a media statement.

Participants can collect their race kits, including bibs and jerseys, at One Galle Face Mall on December 12 between 12 pm and 9 pm and on the following day from 11 am to 6 pm.
