The 64th National Amateur Golf Championship of Pakistan concluded in Lahore with Kumar Danushan ending runner-up in the event while the host country asserted dominance in the team event.

Danushan carded consistent rounds of 75, 73, 72, and 75 to total 295, just one shot behind Pakistan’s Saad Habib Malik who clinched the title with an impressive 294.

Another Pakistani, Shahmeer Maajid secured third place with 297, giving the host nation both the champion and third slot on the podium. Danushan’s effort was a bright spark, but the team outcome proved disappointing.

In the JR Jayawardena Trophy, the Sri Lankan pairing of Danushan and Pushpika fell short, placed third behind two Pakistani teams. Pakistan Team A, led by Numan Ilyas and Saad Habib Malik, took first place with a score of 302 while the Pakistan Team B finished close behind at 304. Sri Lanka’s combined total of 312 left them eight strokes adrift.
