Ex-Peterson rugby player Sirikumar no more

KN Sirikumar

Former hooker of Petersons rugby club, KN Sirikumar, passed away and his funeral will be held today in accordance with the wishes of his family.

Sirikumar was a fearless leader on the field and was admired for his courage, passion and strength — qualities that defined both his playing and coaching career. 

After leading Petersons SC, he went on to serve the club as coach and team manager from 2002 to 2018, leaving behind an enduring legacy. He also contributed to schools rugby as coach of Nalanda College, nurturing many players.

His son, Praveen Sirikumar, followed in his footsteps, representing Thurstan College before donning the Petersons jersey. In 2010, Praveen had the honour of captaining the club once led by his father.
