Devapathiraja boy in Sri Lanka U-17 squad

Arosha Sithumina, the hard-hitting batsman of Devapathiraja College in Ratgama has been picked into a Sri Lanka Under-17 squad led by Royal College’s Rehan Peiris for a forthcoming tour of Bangladesh. 

Aroshana shot into the limelight more than once with his best being a score of 151 with 13 sixes in an Under-19 match against Moratu MV last month.

The team comprises three players from Royal, two each from Devapathiraja MMV Ratgama, Kinsgwood College and S. Thomas’ College and one each from Mahanama College, Colombo, St Peter’s College, Mahinda College, Christ King College Ja-Ela, Harischandra NS Negombo and Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala.

The team is scheduled to play two three-day matches and three one-dayers.

Sri Lanka U17 Squad: Rehan Peiris (Royal- Captain), Arosha Sithumina (Devapathiraja MMV Ratgama), Chanul Kodituwakku (Kingswood), Hirun Matheesha (Royal), Puljith Wathsuka (Devapathiraja), Sanul Weeraratne (Mahanama), Himaru Deshan (Royal), Stevon Peiris (S. Thomas’), Jason Fernando (St Peter’s), Manitha Rajapakse (Mahnida), Lahiru Lakmal (Christ King Ja-Ela), Kenula Pihilianaga (Kingswood), Minuga Nethsara (Harishchandra NS Negombo), Gimhan Mendis (S. Thomas’) and Nadun Bandara (Maliyadeva).

Match Schedule:

November 27 to 29 First three day-match at Mirpur 
December 2 to 4 Second three day-match at Bashundra
All the three one-day matches will be played at Chattogram on December 7, 9 and 12.
