Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group IV : Kuwait and Kyrgyzstan record second successive wins

The second day’s proceedings of the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group IV tennis tournament, played at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts in Green Path, Colombo, saw Kuwait and Kyrgyzstan record their second successive victories, while Qatar registered their first win.
Kuwait and Kyrgyzstan won their respective ties against Iraq and Turkmenistan by identical 3–0 margins.
Qatar, meanwhile, overcame the Northern Mariana Islands 2–1 in a closely contested tie.
The tournament will continue today.

Kuwait beat Iraq 3–0


Singles
Abdulhamid Mubarak (Kuwait) beat Akam Bakr (Iraq) 6–2, 6–0.
Essa Qabazard (Kuwait) beat Mohammed Al-Shammari (Iraq) 6–2, 6–1.


Doubles
Bader Alabdullah and Ali Alshati (Kuwait) beat Amin Al-Ubaidy and Akam Bakr (Iraq) 6–3, 6–0.
Kyrgyzstan beat Turkmenistan 3–0


Singles
Abdumalik Kamalov (Kyrgyzstan) beat Selim Chagylov (Turkmenistan) 6–2, 6–0.
Mirgiiaz Mirdzhaliev (Kyrgyzstan) beat Aly Geldyev (Turkmenistan) 6–2, 6–1.


Doubles
Kirill Kistanov and Mirgiiaz Mirdzhaliev (Kyrgyzstan) beat Resul Atayev and Yuriy Rogusskiy (Turkmenistan) 6–2, 6–0.
Qatar beat Northern Mariana Islands 2–1


Singles
Mubarak Alharrasi (Qatar) beat Robert Schorr (Northern Mariana Islands) 6–0, 6–0.
Colin Sinclair (Northern Mariana Islands) beat Mossa Alharrasi (Qatar) 6–1, 4–6, 7–6(4).


Doubles
Mossa Alharrasi and Mubarak Alharrasi (Qatar) beat Tomas Abel and Colin Ramsey (Northern Mariana Islands) 6–4, 6–0.
