DS Senanayake and St. Anthony’s start a maiden match

A new chapter in school cricket is set to unfold as DS Senanayake College, Colombo meets St. Anthony’s College Kandy in an inaugural 50-over match that they call Bridges of Brotherhood today at the CCC ground in Colombo.

The match was initiated through a joint partnership between the D.S. Senanayake College Old Boys’ Association and the Old Antonians Cricket Wing aimed at strengthening ties between the two institutions which have produced many world-renowned cricketers.

Building on the strong foundation of their historic rugby encounter, the initiative according to the two schools create a fresh platform for young cricketers to develop their skills, character and competitive spirit.
Cricket fans, past pupils and supporters are expected to gather in numbers to witness the first encounter according to organising committee officials.
