Champion racer Suriyage set for more laurels

McLarens Lubricants, the authorized distributor of Mobil engine oils in Sri Lanka, announced its partnership with leading motorsports exponent Sangeeth Suriyage for the third consecutive year. 

A five-time national motor cycle champion, Suriyage’s racing career is attributed to consistency, dominance and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence. 

He has shattered records at premier hill climbs including Mahagastota (2019 & 2023), Eliyakanda (2020 & 2023) and Radella (2019). He also boasts all-time fastest motorcycle lap records at Pannala Circuit, Kanway Auto Drome, Radella Hill Climb, Eliyakanda Hill Climb and Katukurunda Circuit (SM Class). Representing Sri Lanka on the international stage, Suriyage has competed in the FIM Asia SM Championship and British SM Championship. 

Transitioning to car racing in 2022, he clinched the Rotherham Katukurunda Championship in both the SLH 1600cc and SLS 3500cc categories (2024). Notably, he remains undefeated at the Katukurunda Racetrack since 2016, holding the unmatched distinction of 14 consecutive national race wins a record that underscores his legacy as one of Sri Lanka’s most accomplished motorsports athletes.
