CR announce its commercial backers

One of the country’s leading rugby clubs, CR and FC also known as the Red Shorts have secured several sponsorship packages just in time when the new high profile inter club season in the form of the League gets underway today.

The sponsorship presentations were made at the Longden Place clubhouse on Wednesday evening at a media launch in the presence of club officials and players.

Vantage announced it will be the main sponsor of CR who will also have the commercial and brand backing of Asia Security Group, TVS Lanka, Sports and Nutrition Hub and Fintrex Finance whose collective support strengthens the club’s campaign for the new season.

The Red Shirts did not have a season to their liking in 2024-25 but say they are now confident of staking a claim for the top prize in Sri Lanka rugby with Kandy SC moving in as the defending champions on yet another occasion.

Hardy prop forward and Sri Lanka player Lasindu Karunathilake will lead CR this season. They will herald their campaign with an opening match against Sri Lions on Sunday at Longden Place.
