CR & FC surge into Clifford Cup semis

CR & FC powered into the Clifford Cup semi-finals with a commanding 29 points (4 tries, 3 conversions, 1 penalty) to 15 points (2 tries, 1 conversion, 1 penalty) victory over Navy SC at Longdon Place last night under floodlights.

At the short breather, Reds led 17-5.

Omalka Gunaratne, Viduna Amaneth, Lasindu Karunathilake and Senura Perera scored one try each, while Thenuka Nanayakkara added three conversions and a penalty. Navy responded through Isuru Perera and Koojana Kulathunga with one try each, with Thilina Weerasinghe putting over a penalty and Kalpa Lakmina converting one of the tries.
Raveen Alexander controlled the game.

CR will meet Air Force in the first semi-final of the Clifford Cup knockout encounter.
