The second edition of S Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia and S Thomas’ Prep rugby match will take place on September 13 at the Small Club Ground.

This event is organised by the S Thomas’ College Class of 1988 A/L Association. This year’s edition will feature intense competition between Thomians Mount Lavinia and Prep with matches across under 10 to under 16 segments. Kick-off is at 2 pm.

Adding prestige to the event, the tournament’s trophies pay tribute to three legendary Thomians who proudly represented both schools in rugby. The Late Nellan William Memorial Trophy will be awarded for the Under 16 segment, honouring his dedication and sporting spirit.

The late Harinda C Perera Memorial Trophy will be presented to the Under 14 champions, while the Late Yohan Ambrose Memorial Trophy will recognize the victorious Under 12 side. These trophies serve as a reminder of the legacy and contributions of these rugby greats.

Beyond the competition, the Clash of the Origins provides a unique platform for nurturing the next generation of Thomian rugby players. It is an opportunity for budding athletes to gain exposure, build confidence and embrace the values of sportsmanship according to the organisers.
