Bens and Lyceum steal limelight

St. Benedict’s College and Lyceum International School, Wattala won first place in the Under-20 Boys’ and Girls’ Medley relay events of the Inter-Schools Ritzbury Relay Championship 2025 on the opening day of the meet held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex in Diyagama yesterday.

St. Benedict’s College completed the event in 10 minutes 33.53 seconds while Wattala Lyceum College completed the Girls’ event in 10:47.06. The second place in the Boys’ event was won by A. Rathnayake College, Walala and third place was won by Rahula College, Matara.

In the Girls’ section, A. Rathnayake College, Walala, won second place and Matara Central College won third place.
The meet is held in under five age group categories (Under-12, 14, 16, 18 and 20) for Boys’ and Girls’ and will conclude on April 12.

Over 3,000 athletes from more than 100 schools across the island will participate in this tournament.
