By Susil Premalal
BSC Reds delivered a commanding performance to emerge champions at the Staff Cricket Festival 2025 of the British School in Colombo, held at the Sri Lanka Land Development Cricket Grounds in Kirimandala Mawatha.
BSC Reds had the better of BSC Purples in the final of this tournament, which was conducted in five overs, 11-a-side format, offering fast-paced, high-energy matches that kept players and spectators fully engaged.
BSC Purples, batting first hit up 50 for three from their five overs and BSC Reds raced to their target, scoring 56 for one and to emerge champions.
Earlier in the semi-finals, BSC Purples edged past BSC Blacks by 15 runs and BSC Reds dominated against BSC Greys by seven wickets to book their place in the final.
The event began with a league round, where all teams competed against one another in a round-robin format and the top four teams then progressed to the semi-final stage.
Each team was led by two top-performing staff members, selected for their cricketing ability and leadership qualities. This ensured balance, fairness, and enthusiasm across all sides while building a spirit of unity and friendly rivalry.
