Sri Lanka Athletics (SLA) has decided to close applications for the 103rd National Senior Athletics Championships on June 23.
The championship is scheduled to take place on August 1, 2, and 3 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Diyagama.
According to the SLA 2025 competition calendar, this will be the most prominent athletics event held in Sri Lanka this year, and more than 2,000 male and female athletes are expected to participate.
Entries should be directed to: Saman Kumara Gunawardana, General Secretary, Sri Lanka Athletics, No. 33, Independence Avenue, Colombo 07.
Meanwhile, this year’s National Athletics Championship has also been named the final opportunity to qualify for the IAAF World Athletics Championship.
That international event is scheduled to be held in Tokyo, Japan, from September 13 to 21.
So far, only Rio Olympian Sumeda Ranasinghe has qualified for the Men’s Javelin event.
