Annaya and Akesha book berth in final

Sri Lanka junior girls booked their berth in the final of the Billie Jean King Juniors Asia/Oceanic Pre-qualifying tennis tournament by overcoming Maldives in the semifinal by two sets to nil at the SLTA tennis courts at Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.

Annaya Norbert and Akesha Silva were in top form as they continued their winning streak by recording wins in both singles events against Manha Mohamed Ali and Naba Mishan by two sets to one which was sufficient to book a berth to the final.

Sri Lanka will now meet Singapore in the final scheduled to be played today.

Singles: Annaya Norbert (Sri Lanka) beat Manha Mohamed Ali (Maldives) 2-1 (2/6, 6/4, 6/1). Akesha Silva (Sri Lanka) beat Naba Nishan (Maldives) 2-1 (4/6, 6/0, 6/3)
