Sri Lanka’s rising golf star, Reshan Algama once again underlined his prowess on the international stage by finishing in a commendable tied 11th at the Thailand Junior Championship 2025.

The championship attracted some top-end 70 of the junior golfers representing Asia, Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Algama’s campaign began on a challenging note and in the first round of 77 he slipped down the leaderboard early, leaving plenty of work to be done over the next two days.

On the second day he produced a superb recovery, carding a 3-under par. That brilliant round propelled him up the standings and brought him back into contention, drawing praise from many observers for his composure under pressure.

In the final round Algama once again held his nerve and despite difficult conditions and a highly competitive field, he put together a steady performance ending tied for 11th overall.

It was a result that highlighted not only his technical ability but also his fighting spirit.

At the top end of the leaderboard, Kanav Chauhan clinched the championship with a superb 6-under par while Itchaphat of Thailand claimed runner-up honours with a 5-under par. Both are among the region’s most highly ranked juniors.
