Aaqil wins Best All-Round award at St. Anthony’s

Mohammed Aaqil, the former St. Anthony’s Katugastota badminton skipper and co-vice captain of the Ist XI cricket outfit of 2021 at St. Anthony’s, was awarded the Rt. Rev. Bishop BEDE Memorial Gold Medal for the Best All-Round Student for Sports and Studies.
Aaqil also represented the Kandy District in the U-15 and U-19 segments. In the 2022 Big Match, he scored a brilliant knock of 86 for the Antonians.
This award started in 1938, and Aaqil became the 45th Antonian to win it, with the last winner being Theekshana Gunasinghe in 2019.
