24 teams at Mercantile ‘F’ Division T20

Twenty four teams are vying for the Mercantile Cricket Association “F” Division T20 League Tournament 2026, which got underway on January 15 with the final to be played under lights at the CCC ground later in March. 

At a press briefing held recently at the MCA Legends Wing’ it was announced, that Fairfirst Insurance Limited, the sponsors of the tournament will contest the Fairfirst Insurance Trophy for the eighth consecutive year.

CEO Fairfirst Insurance Limited Ravishankar Wickneswaran said they were sponsoring the tournament for the past eight years and was happy to sponsor the tournament in future too. 

In the Group “A” Softlogic Life, PABC, Metropolitan Group, Aitken Spence, Astron Limited and Mclarens Group while in Group “B” Emerchemie NB, Hanad Plantation “B”, Ceylon Tobacco, Ranpath Group, Ansel Textiles and SAGT contested.

Commercial Bank, Camera Lk, Siam City Cement, Ansell Lanka, Empire Tea and MAS Active Biyagama fought were in Group C while in Group “D” were Commercial Credit, Attire Group, HNB Assurance, Gamma Pizza Craft, E. B. Creasy and Sitrek Group. 

The previous final was played on May 3 last year at the MCA Ground between HNB “B” who beat Dialog Axiata by 34 runs. (K. K. K)
